High School Scholarship Programs
High School Scholarship Programs seek to support undergraduate scholarships
for students, generally with a geographic preference. Individual
donors specify a particular high school and/or geographic area with
some, depending on the average number of students who attend Illinois,
specifying a particular major or field of interest.
Requirements of High School Scholarship recipients vary with some
of the recipients having the privilege of getting to know the donor.
The High School Scholarships are awarded each spring. Some High
School Scholarships are one year scholarships while other are renewable
for up to four years. Some have stipulations that require a minimum
grade point average.
Students can apply for the High School Scholarship through their
high school guidance counselors and are selected for consideration
by a committee made up of a members of Student Affairs Development.
A Personal Investment in a High School Scholarship
When you make a gift to a High School Scholarship Program, you are
forging a personal link with tomorrow's leaders from your hometown.
High School Scholarships create a legacy in that the donors are
generally past residents providing the financial means for current
student to attend a world-class University.
You can participate in the following way:
Gifts
of $25,000 or more allow you to establish a permanent endowment
in your name or that of a loved one. Such an endowment will fund
High School Scholarships for students in perpetuity. With a gift
at this level, you also become a member of the University of Illinois
Foundation Presidents Council.
Gifts of $1,000 or more annually enable you to sponsor a
High School Scholarship in honor or in memory of a family member
or friend.
Gifts at any level will be used to build a permanent endowment
that will provide High School Scholarships to qualified students.
