Vice Chancellor for Research

This is where it all happens. The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research leads, enables, and supports research initiatives, technology transfer, and economic development at Illinois.

Seriously, what does that mean? The OVCR is responsible for ensuring research compliance with governmental and University requirements concerning academic integrity in research and publication, the use of animals in research, conflicts of commitment and interest, the use of human subjects in research, and scientific diving expeditions. They formulate policies, provide outreach education, provide reporting, review, and assessment and investigate descrepencies.

The Institutional Review Board oversees all research involving human subjects on the UIUC campus.
