The Career Center Advisory Committee |
| The Committee participates in
the on-going review and evaluation of the services of The Career
Center and advises the Director and staff on student needs for
career planning and health and graduate school programs. In
addition to enhancing student awareness of the programs, services,
and activities of the Center, the Committee interacts and
consults to represent student preferences for programs and services
that support students' career planning and pre-professional preparation. Recommendations
regarding future programs or enhancements to The Career Center
are discussed by the Committee and, with assistance from the Committee
Chairperson, are submitted to the Service Fee Advisory Committee
(SFAC) for approval and funding. |

10 student members
5 faculty/staff members
3 ex-officio members - Director, Associate Director, & Office Manager of The Career Center (additional Career Center
professional staff may also meet) |

The Committee meets 3-4 times per semester for 1 - 2 hours. Appointed
members must be willing to make time available for meetings (which
are generally held during the noon hour) and occasional special activities. |
| “I
use to think that every office and department here on campus
was completely separated from each other. Since serving on the
Career Center committee I have learned and been surprised by
how closely the different departments on campus work together.”
-Erin Kelley
“This year I am the chair of the committee,
and I really enjoy working with the staff to plan and run all of
the meetings. It really is student run, and we really feel that
we have made a difference this year. We got to be apart of a larger
campus wide project by helping write the strategic plan.”
