2006-07 Turner Fellow Projects

Signature Project
Leave your legacy on Student Affairs with a project you design. Past examples include desigining a freshman wellness survey, updating the VCSA website, and implementing a performance evaluation.

Group Project
Work with the other Turner Fellows on a project of your choice. Past example is completing focus groups about the cultural center facilities. The three Turners present their idea to the Vice Chancellor and implement the project from start to finish.

Convocation
Serve as a member of the Convocation Planning Committee; create a website for new students with information about Convocation; create and distribute a survey for all freshmen to complete regarding Welcome Week, analyze survey results, and prepare a report and presentation regarding Convocation. Present findings to Vice Chancellor and Convocation Committee.

Lunch Bunch Directory
Create a publication for the Vice Chancellor that includes information on each member student leader in Lunch Bunch and the different registered student organizations.

Intern Workshop Series Facilitator
Create and facilitate a series of informational workshops for 17 interns in Student Affairs.

Campus Committees Coordinator
Execute a marketing plan to educate students about campus committees and encourage participation.

Outstanding Staff Awards
Help recognize outstanding Student Affairs staff members. You are responsible for marketing the awards, receiving nominations, communicating with the committee, and planning the recognition event.

Student Leadership Awards
Similar to OSA but these awards are for students. You are responsible for marketing the awards, receiving nominiations, communicating with the committee, and planning the recognition event.

Focus Groups
Compile information and create reports regarding the interests and opinions of different factions of the campus and community, including UI alumni, students, faculty, staff and community members
